I know its been over a month since I posted anything and the reason is that I have no new news to tell. There are 5 families(including us) that are waiting for our NOC's. CARA has put into effect new rules that say that the orphanages have to have a domestic adoption license on file with CARA before any NOC's can be issued. We have been getting weekly updates from our adoption agency about the progress of issuing this license and each week gets harder and harder to swallow the lame reasons why the license has not been issued. For the first few weeks it was because some of the paperwork was not all there, then for a couple weeks it was because 1 signature was not on the license and now it's back to some of the paperwork not being there again!! This has got to be the most frustrating thing I have ever been through. This has to end soon or I will go insane. Our agency has said that CARA has reviewed everyone's paperwork so that when the license does arrive at CARA the NOC's can be issued. Then we move on to guardianship which they have said take 3-5 months. I hope that isn't the case. Our children need to come home.
Feeling this anguish with you. Hoping that those papers and signatures are making their way to CARA ASAP!
ReplyDeleteFunny, when we were there this last time, I drove by the CARA building in Delhi and so wished I could go inside and speed things up for my friends that are waiting!

SO frustrating. I am baffled right alongside you -- the people at these agencies know that children's lives and well-being are at stake, and it's so hard to understand why there is so much foot-dragging. We will keep praying for you and Karuna.
