Maurice and I went downtown Milwaukee this morning to the CIS office(formerly INS) to get our fingerprints done. After making sure we didn't have anything illegal on us, we went to the first gate where they took our letters and photo ID and then gave us a clip board with yet ANOTHER form to fill out and a little pager like you get at a restaurant while you wait for a table. We both found that very amusing. We were told to go upstairs and fill the form out and wait for the buzzer to go off and then go BACK downstairs(kinda silly). We waited for about 15-20 minutes and our buzzers went off. We went back downstairs where we had originally came from to sit again and wait our turn to be fingerprinted. Maurice was called first and I was just a few minutes later. Like my FBI fingerprints, it was so hard for me to get my arm in the position they want it, but thank goodness it's all electronic and if they don't see that it's very good they do it again. I told the lady what I had been going through with the 2 rejections I had already from the FBI and she told me I had about a 50/50 chance of rejecting again. We go in the car and headed home and I couldn't stop crying. I felt so frustrated.
When we got home Maurice called the CIS office and left a message and a VERY nice officer called us back and he had our application in his pile just waiting for the fingerprints to go through to approve them. I told him what we had been going through with my fingerprints and he looked on the computer and nothing had come through yet but he said he would know by tomorrow morning and he would email me with the results. HOW AWESOME!! I wanted to kiss that guy right through the phone. He said if they were rejected then I would have to go back 1 more time and if that set was rejected they would use a local background check that our homestudy agency got to get approval. I'm getting a copy of it and sending it just encase that happens so that doesn't delay us anymore.
Please keep us in your prayers tonight and I will post as soon as I can.
Teresa
