the phone call

We were finally able to talk to Lisa, our India coordinator from our adoption agency last night about her trip to visit the children in the different orphanages in India. More important for us is how our little man is doing. Lisa said he is still the sweet little boy that he always has been when she has visited. He loves to play and dance with the other children there. I asked about what his reaction was about the photo album that we made for him. He loved it!! Lisa said that after the children had all looked at it with Karuna that his caretakers took it into the office and put it on a high shelf so that it would stay nice for him. Lisa was in the office and Karuna came in and pointed to the book on the shelf and wanted to see it again. Makes my heart feel good. He also loved the stuff doggy we sent but not as much as the album. Lisa said she got some great video of him too and I can't wait to see it.

The one thing that was hard for me to hear is that it might take a whole year for him to come home. Totally shocked was more like it. I've told myself that I can't get all stressed out about this because it will only make the wait just that much harder. Lisa said there were 3 or 4 other families that are also waiting for children from the same orphanage and they are all ahead of us as far as their paperwork. My only hope right now is that these other families journey will possibly help to speed up our process.

Speaking of paperwork...we answered all the addition questions for our home study and our social worker emailed the revised home study to JOH and now we cross our fingers and hope that all the information is there and we can proceed with INS approval. Lisa said that after INS approval that his dossier will go to India and unfortunately that's the part that will take the longest(8 months).
